The art of making a wooden bowl known as Shagzo is one of the 13 traditional arts and crafts (Zorig) in Bhutan. Traditionally, Dhapas (wooden bowl) and Phob (wooden cup) are used to serve food among Bhutanese household and dignitaries.
Tashiyangtse is recognized for its Dhaapas. The Dhapas (wooden bowl) and Phob (wooden cup) are produced by using Maple (bou) and pine woods. The Bou Dhapas and Phobs (Maple wooden) are costlier.
